In the first half of the year, the Belarusian Cement Plant implemented two important projects
The enterprise of the Belarusian Cement Company holding, JSC «Belarusian Cement Plant», completed two projects in the first half of the year that have both economic and environmental effects, said Vladimir Drovalev, chief engineer of the enterprise.
Since April, the plant has switched to the supply of raw flour by mechanical transport from the silo warehouse to cyclone heat exchangers of the first line at the 4th stage. Previously, the supply was carried out by pneumatic transport, which was provided by 2 turbochargers with a total power consumption of 1.4 MW. With the introduction of the new approach, electricity consumption has been reduced to 300 kW. The environmental situation has also improved: emissions into the atmosphere have decreased – approximately up to 50%. By the end of the year, the productivity of the first rotary kiln is also expected to increase by about 10%.
The second project concerns bag filters, which are equipped with all modern cement lines, which provides 99% of air purification. On the first line 3 electrofilters of outdated design are installed. Filter No. 3 was reconstructed back in 2018, and from December 2020 to February 2021, filter No. 1 was reconstructed. A special project was developed, as a result, the «filling» of the electric filter was 100% replaced – it was manufactured by the well – known Russian company «FINGO» (the former Semibratovsky plant of gas cleaning equipment, which at one time provided all enterprises of the USSR, including the cement industry, with electric filters and components). As a result, the level of emissions decreased by 40%. The plant intends to start the reconstruction of filter No. 2 this year and complete the work in 2022.
